Thanks! Order just placed.
~$14/box after rebate, free shipping, free duck call, and no tax...best deal I've ever seen for BC.

Mine came in today. I only got them to give Wayne something to gripe about.

That's good stuff. smile

Not to start up a debate on this thread but I notice quite a few folks like to knock BC.
They are admittedly dirty shells, but I always run them through a Nova pump so I have no qualms.

I recall the first days I started hunting over stock ponds and the go to shell for me was Winchester Drylok. I spent many hours scouring the bulrush for cripples tucked away. Then along came a new load from Federal that offered a promotional BC duck strap (that I still use today) so I figured why the heck not. BC was the first mid-priced load that I could consistently fold'em up at 40 yards, so it just stuck w/ me. At the slow rate I go through duck shells now, I am married to this case for the next few years.

Doesn't bc also throw out another plastic wade (litter) or something? When you don't know how to shoot, you can sink a lot of money and engenering into a perfect pattern, but if you can't put the pattern on the bird what is the point.

14 bucks a box is getting to the right price. When they first came out they were higher than a cat's arse.

Re: Black Cloud special - 10/16/15 01:46 PM

Yeah the only time I shoot them is when I catch the 3" #4's on sale Wal, usually at Dicks surprisingly and then I only buy a box. I do believe there is a difference in the knockdown power or perhaps they just pattern better out of my gun, but not $20/box worth of better. I'm not an expert marksman like some of the other posters on this forum, it helps me overcome my weakness and gives us something to argue about in the blind. I usually shoot Winchester Xperts from Academy.

I never thought about the littering aspect, good point. Do you collect your wades after each hunt?

As long as it kills ducks I'll use it. Some people are going to hate just to hate.

Re: Black Cloud special - 10/16/15 04:41 PM

They are great for sky busters...the pattern is extremely tight for decoying birds. I've not tried the close range BC but would if given the opportunity. I looked and they only had 2's in stock...I've yet to pattern a #2 shot that was worth shooting.

Haha. Just something to bring up a conversation in the blind after we discuss Indians and the aliens that visited them. Oh ya then there is Stonehenge. Black cloud will fit in nicely.
