Texasdove.net Reviews - 10/09/15 04:39 PM

Hello all,

I am looking to book a dove hunt through texasdove.net and would like to hear some reviews, prior to booking. If any of you have hunted with this outfitter, or know of someone who has, any feedback would be appreciated. Please feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

That's Brad Mullen. I've heard of him. I'm pretty sure a couple of guys on here hunt with him from time to time. Never heard good or bad though.

I highly recommend Brad at texasdove.net. I hunted with him 5 days this year. He will scout various properties and is careful about over hunting any particular field. He tries to stay in communication with all of his hunters, get feedback and apply to the next hunt. He wants his clients to get plenty of shooting.

I have hunted with him on a couple of occasions. I think of all the dove broker guys he is the best I have hunted with. If he says he has birds then you can be assured he does. From what I can tell he manages his fields the best and they do not get over hunted. He is a little more expensive then most but if you want as much a guarantee as your going get to have a good hunt he is your guy.

Wife and I hunted with Brad Mullen at texasdove.net this long weekend. I got two limits for the weekind and my wife got one on Saturday the (only day she hunted). I was three short of my limit on Saturday morning so we came back in the evening. That evening we hunted over a large tank pond and they were coming in like x-fighters trying to blow up the death star. Never seen anything like it. I quickly completed my limit and just handled the dog after that. I set my wife up on a knoll overlooking the pond and she kept knocking them down as they passed her above the pond about eye level. We wore out my yellow lab with all the water retrieves she had that night. smile Everyone on that evening hunt limited out.

The following morning we hunted a different field that birds kept flying in and out of for couple of hours. At one point they were flying in groups of 10s and 20s. The Mojo tree was drawing them like crazy during that hunt. I had several that were being shot at but still insisted on circling the tree and trying to land until they were shot. One time it was like Argentina as buddy drove his truck over to visit us and about 200 flew up from feeding and left the field right over us. I limited in about an hour and half. I had friends with wives and kids hunting who came back to hunt a different field in the evening and they either limited or got very close.

Monday was the only downer as we were set on a field that was too small to support the number of hunters that were on there so most of us quit early to let the kids shoot. I still managed to bag six before quitting early. I usually have very good success with Brad. There are some fields that are better than others. I know which ones are the best but I understand the need to rest those to keep them good. I don't mind an occasional slow day if I can get a couple of great ones. For being this late in the season, the dove hunting in Woodson has been exceptional. Of the four weekend outings I've hunted with Brad this year, I have always limited on Saturday and occasionally Sunday. On most days when I didn't limit, I should have as there were usually still birds to shoot at. Just not quite as many.

That's Brad cleaning doves behind my wife.
