Teal Season 2015 is in the books! - 10/01/15 02:38 PM
Another busy weekend is in the books as we wrapped up the 2015 teal season! It wasn't exactly the barn burner across the board as we had hoped for when we were game planning the weekend with the full moon, but good shoots were still had with only a handful of slow hunts. We're still tallying the total numbers from the club side on teal harvested and should have it wrapped up by the end of the week. Considering we never got a migration or cool front during the season, we are pleased with how it turned out. We basically shot at the same birds that arrived on the full moon in late Aug the entire season, but that's just how teal season goes some years. That being said, we are extremely happy that we decided to hold out all our major food sources for big duck season. If things stay dry we'll start sinking pits sometime early next week and start gearing up for the duck opener. The dove have been real hit or miss. We located some last week and we're having pretty good shoots until the field received 2-3 inches of rain on Saturday. After the rain and front pushes through early this week we got back out and located some more for our group tomorrow. The boats have really been hammering the fish while wading. It shouldn't be long and we'll be saying the same thing about drifting. Have plenty of openings in Oct for anyone interested in wetting a line.
Nick and I what to thank the entire RNG crew for all the hard work they do behind the scenes. From brushing & building blinds, to scouting countless hours and everything in between.
