Mudbuddy Sport V or 5500 BAMF

Mudbuddy Sport V or 5500 BAMF - 02/23/15 12:10 AM

Looking for recommendations/reviews of the Sport V 55 and the 55 BAMF. I just sold my ProDrive and liked the Instant F/N/R of the Sport V but the more traditional Mudbuddy is battle proven. We mostly run Lakes out in East Texas so it's got to be good in the shallows and stumps. The old ProDrive Skeg would push the prop of of the water and we couldn't move even though we were still floating. Won't be running a lot of mud like on the coast.

Any input would be appreciated. Or if anyone has a Sport V or Mudbuddy I could test drive that would be ideal. I'm willing to buy gas and beer cheers for your time.

Boat would be a 1754 Excel F86.

I have the Mud Buddy 5500HD BAMF (2013 purchased in 2012) the longer surface drive for big boats (32" I think) it's on my 18x60 huntdeck boat with floatation....big and heavy it does the trick. Let me know if you want to take a ride and check it out.

Guy in Alabama had one he was selling because he fell on tough financial times. Motor has 20 hours on it and the hull is like new with all the bells and whistles.

Time will tell if the Sport V holds up and performs up to my expectations.

Thanks Guy. I'm itching to get her on the water to see if it handles as well as they say it will. My old Prodrive would slide like there was no tomorrow.
