Stud BWT for the Wall

Stud BWT for the Wall - 01/26/15 02:15 PM

Been wanting one of these guys for a few years now. Have shot a few late in the season but never one worthy of the wall. Shot this guy and he took off to a pond about .25 miles away. Walked over and actually found him!only problem was that he was across a 10 ft channel that runs through the middle of the pond. And we had left the pup at home (she is pregnant) Had to make a decision on how muchl I wanted the bird. All I can say is DAMN that water was cold. Probably not the smartest thing I've ever done but oh well. Shot a BWT in early season with a band (too messed up for taxidermy). Will be putting the band on this bad boy.

Sounds like you have a great bird on the wall with a good story to go along with it!

That is a pig of a blue wing. If swimming is all your option then you were out of options. You gotta do what you gotta do. Congrats on the bird!

Yep, you'll remember that one.

Nice BWT and good job on the recovery. A lot of people these days wouldn't have put that effort in to recover that bird. happy3

You need to invest in a dog.

Congratulations on a pretty bird.

NTX - was looking at your stuff yesterday. Would really like to go with you for this Bird, but cant see making the trip to Dallas for it. If you or someone you know from your area would be in Houston anytime in the next few months - please let me know!I'd love to have you do this.

Thanks for the compliment! I have done shipping as well if you are interested, I know that adds a bit to the cost though. Another option closer to you worth checking out is Lowell Shapely in Houston at http://gulfcoastwaterfowl.com/ . Let me know if I can help you out. Thanks,
Chris

GulfcoastWF is the shizzle. I've always liked his stuff.

Nice bird but IMO kinda cheesy mounting a bird and then putting a band on it from another bird. I would just leave it the way it is.

Dam man, couldn't that have been a girlfriend or wife all naked swimming?

But great retrieve!

Looks like a good retrieve from the pic, but my guess is you ran the bank wink

I have no problem with bank running dependant on the situation.
