New Years Day Limits! (Pic heavy)

New Years Day Limits! (Pic heavy) - 01/01/15 09:04 PM

Left extra early this morning due to bad road conditions. I had to drive about 40mph to meet Cdoz35 before heading out to our place. We got there and started to talk about where we wanted to set up when we both heard something that sounded like a train or a truck coming down the near by county road.

Cdoz shined his light across the water to see the most ducks any of us had ever seen. Thousands of ducks were coming off the water. It looked like something you see in old pictures or videos from Stuttgart Arkansas.

We had ducks landing all around us. There have not been many ducks roosting there all year so it was unexpected to see that many.

It was incredible!!

We got set up and had medium and small groups work our spread all morning. It was my best and most fun hunt of the season!

3 man limit and I got two for the wall

I am so thankful that yall busted that roost hole. Makes my hunting good for at least a week. Sounded like 6 or 8 guns hammering through a flat of shells. I hadn't seen any birds for a week. Easly limits this morning. Yall should hit it more often

Hasn't been a roost hole all year Untill just recently. We will be hunting it in the mornings again I'm sure a few more times. We watched groups and groups head out at first light. Most of the ducks just moved around the lake till light.

3 guys a couple boxes of shells

That place has roosted birds for as long as I can remember. I like the fact that yall hunt it. It bust up the roost and spreads the birds out. Keep on em. I'm just south west of you guys across the Runnels county Line.

It was roosting a couple hundred birds coming in at dark last night.

It has roosted ducks all year....unless I am Blind and several other guys I know.

Hunt it hard and often. Helps the rest of us out !!!!

Oh, and be careful in the morning. I heard they shut down hwy 84 because of ice this morning. I went in from the back way with little trouble. Stay safe

In past years it seemed to roost more birds than this year. I haven't scouted in the evenings though just haven't noticed a ton coming off of it in the mornings.

I have seen several thousand come in on it at several times this season in the late morning.

We hunt it as often as we can! Glad to help!

We hit em hard the last 3 days. Sounded like y'all shot 3 flats of shells over there this morning.

Y'all got 16 gunners, sky blasting, air balling and need scattergun lessons or guiding hunts now?

Just sayin, with all due respect.

Re: New Years Day Limits! (Pic heavy) - 01/11/15 08:58 PM

Didn't even hunt this morning.

We didn't do very well yesterday morning. Shot a few spoonies, ringers and a pin. Four guys shot less than a box probably.

You must be hearing someone else

So you might want to know who your talking about before talking crap!

If there is someone hunting that lake then we need to know about it!

Well, I did say " with all due respect".

It's in the Geneva convention. Look it up
