Dove Report SW Breckenridge

Lots of birds this morning. 2 of my fields had really good birds and 1 of my fields was pretty thin. Neighbor #1 has 2 fields and both had birds. Neighbor #2 has 1 small field and he had a ton of birds, mostly Whitewings. I'm booked up for opening weekend and the guys should do good as long as the birds stick around. I probably saw somewhere around 500 birds in all 6 fields this morning. Lots of nice groups with anywhere from 4 to 20 in a group.

I finished mowing and discing yesterday, hopefully I can pull in and hold a few more now.

Stompy can't wait. Hope all the birds show up Sat morning for us when we get there. Glad you got a little rain but alot more will do. Keep the reports coming. really looking forward and counting down the days.

After the rain yesterday, I had 84 in my gravel driveway (My driveway is about 300 yards long). This morning I counted 77 at 2 of my fields. Those are the ones that were on the road and powerlines. Maybe we'll have a decent year. 2" rain yesterday and a heavy dew this morning, first dew I've had since spring I think.

How about after opening weekend? Availability/rates?

Cabins are booked thru the 8th of Oct. I have room for hunters about every weekend except the first 2 weekends in Sept.

Seems to be less doves this week, we had a 2" rain last week and don't know if that had an impact but something did. It's still a couple of weeks away and I've seen this happen before and the birds moved back in. Heck ya just never know about these dang doves.

Yep,,birds are thinning some...Seeing about half as many as I did 2 weeks ago.
