too late now, but in the future leave the piece you cut out attached (don't cut a complete circle) to make a lid that you can open and close. put a screw through a tab on the other end to make a latch.

My "lids" stay on perfectly even though they are cut all the way around in a square shape. Also, my dekes would not bend far enough to get the weasel ball inside, I guess the plastic is more rigid.... and cheap.

They have more movement than those shakers, I did the same thing and threw it away after last season, they just dont make enough waves.

The first Weazel Ball I used in my 1st deke was the one I bought for my older son when he turned 2. He loved it and played with it a lot when he was younger. He turned 9 last summer. Not sure what "burn up really fast" means to you, but anything that costs $8 and lasts the better part of a decade I am ok with. Not to mention that I leave the Weazel Balls running for hours and they are barely warmer than the ambient temp. Let me mention again.... it cost $8 and works great! We have had ducks light almost on top of them.

Most of the time when I plan to use them I am hoping it is pretty cold out. Besides, what is the worst they could do, catch the deke on fire? Oh well, there goes $6 and a crummy deke!

A flaming decoy? Would have to be careful you don't pull in too many gay ducks. What is the limit on those this year?

My wife just got a Holloween decoration that is a skull with bones dangling off it that shakes like crazy. It will have to be sacrificed I think. I still need to go get some weazels

Have you finished it yet?

Tested it?

Re: My "Grey" duck... - 10/25/10 06:56 PM

I just finished two the other night, they work but not as much wobble as I expected. I was thinking maybe making more room inside so that they can actually roll around and hit the sides. Or maybe using Bumble Balls bc they are a lil bigger, but I don't know if they would fit inside a decoy.

Re: My "Grey" duck... - 10/25/10 08:01 PM

Did you put it in water?

Posted By: bjepsen85

Re: My "Grey" duck... - 10/25/10 08:06 PM

Yeah I put it on the ol' hot tub. I'm not complaining, it works fine, I was just expecting a lil more wobble for some reason. The video I saw looked like more than mine. I'll still be using them come Saturday that's for sure.

Maybe a bunk weasel ball? I know on the very calm days mine was rippling well beyond 30 yards.

Re: My "Grey" duck... - 10/25/10 08:14 PM

You did take the plastic out of the ball and place the ball with the "empty" half down? Just making sure.

Re: My "Grey" duck... - 10/25/10 08:15 PM

Possibly, maybe when i get it on the open water it will look better. Nice sig by the way.
