This is getting serious

Haven’t seen a hog on any of my cameras for a couple of weeks. Dang, I’m having withdrawal symptoms. I have new reloads and everything. I promise not to complain when they come back…

That's a great problem to have. Since the "great freeze," I have seen almost no hogs on camera and absolutely none on the hoof. And I love it.

No hogs is a good thing but 603 likes some trigger time. From what I saw of the area they probably just shuffled off a bit and will be back; probably sooner rather than later. My guess is they're in the creek bottoms taking advantage of the green up and grubs and worms coming to the topof the soil.

They are afraid of the Mighty 603.

They are away from the feeders having babies! Just wait…

Don't worry, they'll be back.

Damn things must have migrated North to my place. Come and get them.

Bones, you are right. I do want some trigger time. Got a new lower for the Grendel, put the night scope back on it, reloads are shined up, and I am ready.

Wow! I can’t match that, but a bit after 5ish today things are looking up. I have a new hog in town.

Wonder when the sounder with sows and little ones went?

That's a seriously target-rich environment right there!

I got one that came back been after him for awhile he's pretty elusive...The rest have scattered but that might be they are having a hog contest around there. [Linked Image]

I would love to be sitting at any of those spots with a Benelli M2 with a 12 round magazine tube loaded with 000 or Tri-Ball elmer

Re: This is getting serious - 04/05/23 06:28 PM

I hunt every week and the usual crowd of pigs has evaporated. Where I used to see a sounder of 8-12 hogs (2 different feeders) now is reduced to a lone hog every once in a while. WTF? Nothing I know of has changed where I hunt!

I have one big loner coming through every couple of days. Unpredictable timing. Wife says to save him for the grandson, so I will. And, he needs the meat, and we don’t. If the GS doesn’t get him, I will, and put him on the bone pile. Or, I could just trap him. Maybe somebody would want him.
