LIttle Boar Down this morning - 04/03/22 02:35 PM
The piggies had changed their feeding schedule to early morning, so I hopped out of bed nice and early first thing this morning and parked myself in a blind overlooking a feeder. Sure enough, right around 5am, a sounder of about 6 came thundering in for breakfast. They were running all over the place so I quit trying to track them, held the rifle in about the center of their activity, and waited until one of them stopped right where I as aiming. The 95 grain Nosler sailed out of my Savage Axis .243, entered his right ear and departed out his throat, leaving a very large wound. He didn't even wiggle. By the time the dust settled, all his buddies were gone. I stayed for another hour, but no more hogs showed up. One more down, thousands and thousands left to go.
