Got 2 with a new 6.8 round

It started to rain right at dark last night. I chased this large group of hogs in tithe rain from feeder to feeder. I finally caught up with them. I shot the larger one first with a new 6.8 round for me. The 105gr MKZ Cavity Back Bullets did an excellent job. She didn’t drop but she only went 10 yards (shot placement issue) with a crazy large blood trail. The smaller one stopped too long and I dropped it in a pool of blood. I really wanted the 120gr rounds they just started selling but the 105s worked great!

Good job. 6.8 is an excellent cartridge for hogs.

Ought to be able to push 105 pretty good in a 6.8. Sounds like a great compromise between the 90s and the 115-120 class.

sweet, I have been a devout 6.8 guy for over 10 years.. ran just about every bullet out there, my favorite was the Barnes 95g TTSX, I was involved in testing for Barnes with them. Loaded hot they were super effective. I got tired of chasing brass and loading and switched to the Hornady 120 SST factory load when it first came out and that is all I have used since. Wouldn't mind trying these though!

Same on the 120g SSTs. I get the best groups with this factory load, at least with my current barrel and setup. I might give those MKZs a try though. The more sampling data the better. Plus, it gives me a reason to go shoot.
