Can't get it through their thick skulls

No pass thru from around 40 yards using old surplus 30. aught 6 ammo. He dropped and kicked for a while. Conditioning on this guy was superb not real stinky either but I did catch a wif of boar taint when I cut between the back tendon and lower leg to strap him up. Hopefully he is palatable enough for some yotes to shoot at. I'm guessing around 170.

That's surprising. 40 yards with 3006 I would think would go through. Correct me if I'm mistaken but isn't the surplus ammo FMJ?

Fine shot. I am surprised it didn't go all the way through. Then again, bullets do weird things in skulls.Unless you recovered the the bullet or necropsied around the head, you don't know what became of the bullet. It may be down in the neck, somewhere.

Yeah Double Naught I thought the same thing. He did do the funky chicken for a good 2 minutes or so. I should have investigated further but the mosquitos were starting in on me. Drug that guy out to the edge of my pasture and its weird. Vultures showed up today less than 24 hours. I guess they could tell he was some prime vulture meat as he was in really good shape. Reminds me this guy was short hair. Starting to see a variety in coats, lengths of snouts and even tails as I wage war on these guys.
