NV Question - 05/07/21 07:26 PM

For all of the experienced NV hunters out there, how do I eliminate the "White Muzzle Flash" from my videos? Sightmark Wraith HD! Otherwise the video looks pretty good!

Thanks!

The whiteout is a by product of using the IR light.

The gunsmoke from the shot is picked up by the IR light and seen through the optics.

It seems the flash hiders that direct the muzzle gasses upward may make things worse. No wind or breeze makes it worse as well.

Cross wind to blow the gunsmoke away, and a muzzle device like a suppressor or a linear compensator may help some too. Usually, a decent breeze works best.

Your light mounted forward of the optic helps too... If you can mount the light on the forend.

Good question and great explanation. Makes perfect sense once you take a second to think about after watching the videos out there. Thanks to both.
