Another drought ended... - 12/27/20 04:01 AM
One of three lone boars coming by regularly, might be the smallest. I saw him last week from 200 yds but no shot as I'm only working with a green light, which wont quite reach that far, and he didnt stay. At the time it was only eyes but my camera verified this dude. They've been coming out at 630 ish or 830 ish, with this boar on his own at varying times. From 6-830 no action but I flipped on my light and there he was. He seemed bothered but not scared by the green light. I thought I was going to have to do a Texas heart shot as I thought he might be walking away. He did turn enough for the shot. DRT with the new Sig .308. When I came up on him he was breathing and very much alive, and was blinking. But he didnt move. I walked all around him. It took two head shots to get him to stop breathing. No exit wound, shot was quartering away. He did a big curly shuffle well after the first shot and after the photos. Still 20+ regulars to go.
