Hey folks,

What's your favorite Hog hunting operations within 2 hours drive within Houston? Please tell me any pros and cons.... I'm looking for something good for a new or moderately experienced hunter looking for an affordable meat adventure with a rifle I can introduce to new hunters. Appreicate y'all. Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Are you looking for public land? A ranch? A guide?

Offhand I know Sam Houston national forest is about an hour off the north end of town. Gals at the office said they know there’s hogs but couldn’t tell me where. So I’m still looking!

I'm looking for private land yes on a ranch. Both guided or unguided.

Years ago we used to hog hunt, as paying guests, at Mariposa Ranch down near Victoria. I don’t know if they still do that.
