Best way to bait/lure in hogs for shooting

We had one hog show up at a feeder once a few weeks ago and the other guys who hunt the property recently saw several when doing some work.
Question - what is the best way to bait/lure them since they are not coming to the corn feeders on a regular basis?

Sprinkle the contents of a Strawberry Kool-Aid package over the corn where you want them to come.

They will be where they can get food, water, and safety.
You can use any/all kinds of pixie dust but plain corn works just as good and is easier.
I once poured mineral oil all over a fresh stump and they rubbed on that until it began to rot.
In my opinion, it's not what you can do to get them to come in, it's what can you do to keep them away.

'Baited my smallest trap last week with moldy corn fermented in beer and cherry jello mix. Also had expired ranch dressing and Italian dressing that I dumped on it, figuring that it was such a nasty mix no way deer would bother it. Next morning there's a young WT buck AND a doe in the trap. They must have been Italian. It was a rodeo getting them outa there.

Back to corn+diesel.

Hogs are unpredictable. Just plain corn helps draw them in but you just have to be there when they are. A pig pipe might hold them in the area and keep the deer from eating the corn. Hot weather also seems to make them more nocturnal. I am seeing plenty of hogs on trail cams but it is at night and different times.

Just plain old corn fed on the same spot consistently is the way to have them come in and keep coming back. If you want a pig pipe, that is great as you are still using the plain old corn. All the tootie fruitie mixes and fermented cocktails simply add time and expense to what already is a proven performer - plain old corn.

I'm with the plain corn guys. If they aren't coming to your corn feeders right now, it's because there is a natural food source they are enjoying elsewhere. I'm with DNS. The flavorings and souring and all just adds time and expense...and can have an adverse effect. Hogs aren't often crazy about new smells. Finally, the commercial attractants work exactly as they were meant, they take money from your pocket and put it in someone elses.

Just keep throwing corn, if they're around, they'll eventually find it.

If I a pour a pile of corn on the ground, and another pile of sour corn near it, they usually end up at the sour corn and wipe it before moving to the regular corn. It doesn't take special mixes, keep it simple just add water in a bucket in the sun and let it sit depending the heat 1 to 3 weeks and its ready to go.

I have used a pig pipe for years and they are pretty regular when they want to be. Almost every day or night a lot of times, but when acorns fall they will walk by the pig pipe for acorns. The pig pipe will keep them in a spot for longer times while they roll the pipe around. They can not just walk up and eat a pile of corn, because they have to roll the pipe to get corn out. I have game cameras the show them sometime for 3-4 hr at a time at the pipe. I use them to keep them occupied there and not in my fields tearing up the sod.

Of course, the problem with pig pipes is that they must be maintained much more frequently than a standard feeder. In order to get pigs to stay longer at a feeder, I just have it throw a small amount of corn several times in the evening over a couple of hours.

Be the only food source or throw the most corn without perceived danger. If you feed next to a water source you will stack em up.

I have a small pond on the back of our place. When the weather cools a bit more I’ll again begin throwing corn on the edge of the pond that’s closest to the woods. Doesn’t take long for the deer and pigs to find it and start visiting. Been doing that for years. And, something of interest is that both deer and pigs seem to prefer eating with their heads uphill, giving me side shots. Call it a side benefit...
