I'm using a 12 gauge Nova with a Sabot and double 00 buck for back up. What do you the hog hunting minds suggest?

That's a good combination and should work nicely for you. If you want to go "extreme" on the hog whacking, try some Dupleks USA slugs. They come if 4 flavors, with energy ranging from 2070 to 2180 foot pounds at the muzzle. They are devastating. (www.ddupleks-usa.com)

I’ve killed over 80 hogs with 300 Grain Hornady SSTs in 2 3/4

Here's the results of a one shot kill on a piggy at 50 yards using of them there DDUpleks shotgun slugs. It ain't purty. But I've not a single one squeal, get up and run, or do much of anything but take a really fast dirt nap after being hit with one of them!

Federal Vital Shock, Flight Control Wad. Tight pattern, the wad does not flare out, keeping the shot together farther down range. Check out some YouTube videos of them. They have worked for me, killed one a few paces over 30 yards. Fall over dead, right there. Haven't stretched them any farther yet.

I bought some at Brownells. I didn't think the price was bad.

I'm just trying to use a 3 1/2" slug on one. I got the gun just gotta get the slugs, and a pig to come close enough.

there is no reason to shoot a 3 1/2 in shell with slugs

You want real stopping power, go 'Dixie Tri-Ball'.

http://www.dixieslugs.com/products.html

(3) 60 cailber...Hard Cast....325gr. each. That's 975 gr. of hard cast balls @ 1100 fps.

I don't shoot them very often because I like to keep the fillings in my teeth and my retinas attached, but they are a powerhouse on pigs.
