Good job on the boar!
I’ve only been around the new flirs a little bit. Is the video out a good representation of what you see? Or is it degraded a little bit? Good killing either way . I’d say it beats sitting on the couch, but sounds like with your set up, you can do both. That’s a pretty good idea
Any time you go to YouTube, there is some degradation. However, bigjoe's video is showing significant image degradation over what it should be displaying. What you see in the videos for these scopes should be a pretty good representation of what you see through the scope, no perfect, but a whole lot better than what is being shown here.
Picture in real time through the scope is much better than the video shows. I have other videos that are really crisp and clear as well. When I shot this video it was very hazy/dusty due to good ole west Texas red dirt. Can’t say for certain, but I think the conditions degraded this video. Overall I’m happy with the scope and my chief complaints are magnifications and the fixed front lens. I’m fairness, my two complaints have to do with the features FLIR used to keep the price point down and I couldn’t afford the jump to a Pulsar unit.
Actually, bigjoe, you seem to be doing something different on your uploads. Resolution of the two uploads you have on your YouTube channel are 1/4 of the resolution of other raw footage from FLIR PTS scopes. Your videos only show at a max of 240 resolution and they should be at 480 resolution. When you click on the little flower/sprocket next to the YouTube logo in the video playback, you get choices for resolution and video speed. Yours maxes out at 240. Others, like these below will allow for 480, or 4 times the resolution and as a result, the images are clearer. For example, with not just the video image, but also look at the difference in the clarity of the FLIR logo and other screen features (crosshairs, compass, etc.) between your video and other folks' PTS233 videos...
