296 lb Boar Hog Dropped With The New Flir PTS 736...

Got a chance to test out and hunt with the brand new Flir PTS 736. Within 3 minutes of walking out into my pasture to check out the image on the 736, I run up on a sounder with a 296 pound toad mixed up in the middle... That Outdoor Alert color palette is pretty cool.. Makes the hogs look like Zombies!! haha!!..

It almost looks like you lined up the first shot on the 296lb’er through the belly of a pig in front of him.

That’s risky as the bullet could deflect off course BUT you got him down on shot # 2!

It’d would’ve got interesting quickly had he run straight at ya with that magnification and malfunctioning rifle!

I hear ya! But you're right.. I wanted that big boar but couldn't line up a clear shot. The 6x magnification is no joke!!

Yup, that's a big 'un. Very nice scope, out of my price range. I have the PTS233 and have been very satisfied with it for the price. Hopefully I can keep messing with the enhancements and get it dialed in that good. Kudos.

So that was 60 yds with no zoom at all on the scope? Was sound recorded separately or on the scope?

yep, no zoom.. the base is 6x.. Too much for me. I'd rather it start off on 2x. I recorded the sound separately on my cell phone.

I'll do doing a full review soon to go over all the in's and out's of the PTS 736..

Definitely a bog 'ol hog. I know you said it was only 50-60 yards, but that was a really good image and the Outdoor Alert screen really does make the hogs look like zombies!
