First for 2018 - 01/08/18 01:08 AM
I was hunting up in a tripod Fri afternoon, just before legal sunset, I see a dark shadowy character enter the arena. Hogs are generally jittery, and always moving. This guy decides to park himself right in line with a tree in between the two of us. I guess he's going to make me work for this one...
I dismount from the tripod and get on the edge of a cedar on a kneel and am quickly reminded how heavy my dang rifle is with the Cyclone on the end. Found a piece of wood to use for a pseudo rest (that's my excuse for the wobbling) and let her rip... Given he wouldn't settle down, I had to introduce to a few more rounds.
While my hunting chauffeur really blows as a photographer, this was my first boar that had that razorback looking line of fur along his back, really cool looking. Taped out right at 200.
Hopefully many more to come in 2018!
