omg you won’t believe this. i check the vid chip and… nothing. and it had to happen on two of my best shots ever. it went like this…

took a bud hunting who doesn’t have very good equipment. i’ve been there so i can sympathize, but as a wise man once said… it is what it is. or maybe i said that, don’t remember. anyway, there’s no wind at all. park a ways back but get to walk up on a turnrow. easy.

i setup and ask, are you ready? no answer.
again.. you ready

him: where is he

me: well he would be the giant pig standing in the middle of the field looking right at us

him: where

me: i’m not taking my eyes off him. look where my barrel is pointed.

he turns on an ir light and sees eyes. now he’s got him. 3,2,1 powpow. wish y’all could have seen him drop. but everyone knows not to celebrate too quickly. in about 15 seconds, he gets up and takes off like nothing’s wrong. now this was no gimme, so i had to shoot several more times at him running through brush to anchor him.

looks like my first shot hit him in the chest and my bud hit him in the leg. big ole stanky for sure.

come up on another hog and he’s on the move. i race up and stick the rifle out the window. he’s on my side and no time for bud to get off a shot so i had to take him. led him a bit and took the shot… a miss. now we’re both in high gear. i’ve done this a few times and he probably hadn’t, so it was like a chess game where you let your opponent make the mistakes and beat himself.

he ran out into a plowed field. bad move. i had to open the door and stand on the rail to shoot over the top, but i got him with a head shot that flipped him pretty good. and no vid… dang!!!
