there's not really a right or wrong way, there's just easy and hard ways. I'm lazy!

Give the hardest job to the laziest man and he will find the easiest way to do it. cheers

There is a very real distinction between lazy and efficient and I don't think lazy fits you.

I need a video on how to shoot a hog and make it run to the bone yard and die so I don't have to tote it there

Been doing the gutless method but I've been hanging mine. Don't know why I just have been. I'll be stopping that nonsense as well! Thanks for the video.

They don't fight back as much on a surface, elevated a bit, on something like a receiver rack or a tailgate if you are a bit taller than me is even better on the back.

Re: HOW TO DRESS A HOG IN 10 MINUTES OR LESS - 03/21/17 07:00 PM

i've been doing this method for a long time

if you want to get the tenderloins you can just
reach in , slide finger tips under the loins
and rip them out, no cutting required

I like keeping the flank and ribs, where most of the fat is for sausage. I find it easier and cleaner to just gut skin them to get what I want, but yeah if your only taking quarters and straps it can be a lot easier.

Re: HOW TO DRESS A HOG IN 10 MINUTES OR LESS - 03/25/17 10:51 PM

Nicely done! That was a fat hog and a sharp knife, two good things!

Only thing I might do differently would be to put a sheet of plastic on the tail gate to keep the meat a little cleaner, but I always have to wash it anyway.

Thanks for posting!

those knifes are unbelievable for the price and SHARP. I like the carbon but they rust up easily so I usually end up buying the stainless. Great video.

Re: HOW TO DRESS A HOG IN 10 MINUTES OR LESS - 03/27/17 08:40 PM

Great method. But this method has a high chance of getting hair and stuff from the outside of the pig on the meat. If you get hair and scent on the meat when cleaning, the meat will certainly taste it. If I clean a pig, I will hang it and skin it first, then quarter it up like this. Even big boars taste good, but not if you get anything from the skin or hair on the meat.

Thank you, sir.

Just purchased 2 from Amazon, will give them a try. Price is even better than those I bought from Academy's clearance section.
