Doesn’t need to come from great working lines. He doesn’t hunt just needs a healthy puppy that will be a pet. He wants to spend around $500. Thanks

Try a rescue. They often have som un-registered pups of several breeds.

Spending $600 on one from 5 D Retrievers in Giddings as a Christmas pup since we just put one down. Not sure if there are any upcoming litters but you may want to contact them.

Check Brownwater kennels in Palestine. We got one last year for $650 and he is a great dog.
