2 More Off Of The Bench! - 09/04/18 05:43 PM
Both of these were made from Nicholson files and both have been heat treated and tempered to HRC 60.
This one has an overall length of 8 3/4" and it's 3 3/4" tip to scales. Scales are stabilized spalted pecan that came out of one of my own trees. It has brass pins and yellow vulcanized liners. It's been ran over the buffer but it's not what I'd call a full mirror polish. I left the tang on the file and formed it into a pig tail just for something different. It's shaving sharp and ready to go to work.
This one is basically the same profile minus the pig tail. It's 8" overall and 3 5/8" tip to scales. As ground satin finish on the blade. Scales are stabilized Olive Burl with red liners and stainless pins and lanyard tube. It's also scary sharp.
