Not many new things this year. Couple of new federal hunts and some private lands hunts.

2nd favorite day of the year, next to Christmas morning. Just got the email a few minutes ago and about to browse the hunt catalog.

Yippee!!! Now 3 more months of anticipation, followed by crushing disappointment and defeat.

That's the spirit! (But true.) It's kinda like the way my pig trapping is going right now.

Are they cubing points this year?
Are the odds still 1 in 47 million?

If they are cubing points then maybe i will finally get pronghorn, alligator, archery md and exotics.

There's nothing left at Powderhorn so no need to apply.

I'm laying out this year. Is it every two years you have to apply or else lose your points?

I never heard that. I went several years on Bighorn(forgot to apply) and other hunts....points were still there when I did apply again.

Oh hell, I forgot about Bighorn! (I don't think you can apply 'til later in the year anyway.) I'll enter that 'cause...I hate to tell you...I'm WINNING that some day!

For Texas you don't lose your points. In years I wanted to lay out, I used to put in for an impossible odds hunt just to get the point. Too risky to do that now with points cubed, so there are some categories I am passing on this year as well.

Just put in for alligator and dove.

Yeah the big horn is in September.

Been a couple years since I put in for anything....sounds like the program has been totally changed and I am as usual late to the party again... Oh well mebbe next year I'll find out if all the Points that had been accrued are still active...

WC: The points you have are still there, and if you have a bunch for some of the hunts, they are worth even more now with the cubing process. Next draw is 8/15 for archery deer and pronghorn, then others in Sept. Good Luck!!!
