Texas Draw Hunts for this year

When can we apply for the draw hunts for this year?

It's usually early July if I am not mistaken.

That's correct, it's in early to mid July. I was just thinking the same thing and browsed last years book earlier today. Starting to get the lottery itch.

Oklahoma controlled hunt draw results are tomorrow. I got my fingers crossed for an Elk or Antelope hunt.
As for Texas. The fix from the Sambar I took on Powderhorn last year using 27 points has really taken the pressure off. I will keep putting in, but I'm still happy if I don't draw anything this next season.

Did you put in for any of the walk in elk hunts?

My three choices were the first walk in hunt, the first regular bull/either sex hunt, and the one in eastern OK. I think I only put in for points on the draws other than Elk and Antelope now that they offer that option.

Yea, I saw that. I actually applied for deer in Witcha also.

Since I'm not guiding this year it would be nice to pop on a couple of tags. I'd just like to get out and see some new country. Sitting on 13 pronghorn points. Maybe lucky 13 will get it done.
