Wednesday updates: Three Rivers Fire 5% contained, at 12,000 acres Nicole Maxwell Ruidoso News
What the 12,000 acre fire perimeter really means 12:45 p.m. update: Fire is still 12,000 acres and 5% contained.
The Type-1 Incident Management Team took command of the fire at 6 a.m.
"Crews have been divided into three divisions and will be focusing on constructing fire line on the south end of the fire, working their way to the east and north," a Lincoln National Forest update states. "The southeastern portion of the fire is in particularly rough terrain, making firefighter’s work even more challenging for every mile of fire line they build. Despite harsh conditions, this area remains a top priority because of the multiple values at risk ahead of the fire, including homes and Ski Apache."
The fire has crossed into Mescalero Apache Tribal Land and Mescalero and Lincoln National Forest are working together to battle the fire.

We had drawn unit 30 and was wondering if anyone has any info on that unit. Not looking for your spot just a general area to hunt and camp at and we don't mind walking from the road to hunt. Don't know much about this unit since my group draws unit 37 most years

Nice deer, that country down there can definitely be some tough hunting without pointers or intel. We went in blind to unit 29 last year and came away empty handed.... maybe next year!
