State Park Camping Reservations

I thought it might be a good idea to remind everyone that it's possible to make reservations at State Park campsites.

I doubt most parks will be jam packed during the open hunting dates, but it's nice to know well in advance where you're going to stay and to confirm there's water, power etc.

Yep, this is the first year that you can actually pick your campsite you’ll be in, when making your reservation.

If you are talking about camping during a hunt at the state park, the park is closed to everyone except the selected hunters during the hunt period.

That's true of some parks, Pedernales Falls, for example, but doesn't seem to be true of some of the other parks like James Daughtrey / Choke Canyon or Bastrop. It's best to confirm to avoid disappointment.
