New to the forum, gotta question. Hunting on public land (archery only). Got set up in my tree and noticed about 100yrds behind me another hunter was setting up. We are on a fence row, thin bottle neck of timber. I shine my light so they know I'm here. He sets up anyway. How close is too close?

That's too close in my opinion. Would hope about 300yards.

I agree. Anything less than 300 is too close.

That is one of the real disvantages to Hunting public land. It’s not so much about finding animals as it is about avoiding other hunters. Give it a couple of weeks and the other hunters will all but disappear.

If the woods were really thick and I couldn't see the other hunter I would be fine with 150 yards. Late season when all the leaves are off the trees,200 yards.

yeah, I'm with yall, early season gets pretty crowded, but towards the end its like you have your very own 500 acre plot of gods country to enjoy.200 yards is what I try and keep from any one else

Archery only, 100 yards is enough especially in a funneling area.
