Sabine River Authority WMA - 09/21/17 07:41 PM

I am just wondering have any of you have ever been to the Sabine River Authority WMA land. It is the closest public hunting land to me which is still just at an hour drive.

What do you guys look for - rubs? creeks? thick brush for bedding near a nice open area with food source?

First time doing public hunts.

yeah, I'm talking about the one down around Logansport.
I want to go hunt the Old sabine river bottom because the compartment set up, but I don't have a bow and its archery only.

Old Sabine is about 20 minutes from my house, few buddies hunt it every year, they love it.

It can be real bad when the water is up. Lots of bugs and snakes, so bring your snake boots and thermacell. Lots of hog right now, and river is down. This is not a West TX. hunt, you will have to do your homework!

Not sure, I don't even start scouting for ducks until any type of North wind starts to blow.

All I have been doing is checking my holes.
