it happens.... You had chance ta go thin hogs out ? Havent seen any more hog's on cam since taking one infront of blind... Seen few tracks of the one that got away by creek few days later... Think it moved on, have heard few shots... Hogs are scarce here... OSBWMA has been my ta-go-to place for hogs.. Archery starts in a few days, acorns been dropping here... Been few years since able ta pull bow back.. Miss the time in the woods... Seen many a nice deer.... With just few gun draw hunts, deer are looking good.... proud supporter of WMA ... Gonna miss the hog hunts.... First got on THF ta see if any one wanted ta do some hunten.... guess its just me.... Best wishes enjoy your posts... Years ago, before it became open ta public... They had talked about damning it up... Had maps of what it would look like, big lake.... Know would be time ta do it... Hag hog show up ta oldcorn ile took a boar from on 8-18 their was two... No licence though, be moving out in few weeks or so... Getting ride of the corn, still got cams out... Be starten all over after 30+ years.... Be awhile before get chance ta hunt... Knee been acting up.... Best wishes on your hunting...

You had chance ta thin out them hogs at your feeders on N side of river ? Archery deer&hog & squirrel&hog should start tomorrow on OSBWMA, then looking at old book.. That will put some pressure on the hogs... See alot of acorns on ground here, nothing coming inta corn, as far as pic's... Did see some, pretty sure doe tracks at corn, hogs dont leave nothen, when they hit the corn...Their was still plenty left... Last several years not able ta hit the bottom cause of shoulder, usualy just been the general hog hunts, meet some guys from DFW area, do a camp out... Hogs been thinned out a bit at OSBWMA, still have pretty good luck finding hogs though.. Tried ta get a mussle loader hunt going at OSBWMA, in different thread, its not on here no more... Looking at income, dought be hunting this year... Ya keep the hogs down, should be seeing some deer at your feeders, if river stays low... Sat 7 hrs. yesterday! Wind went from NW to SW all day. Didn't see a thing. Did have 2 Bluebirds and a Pleated Wood pecker try and land on my shoulder, about fell
out of the stand If I get into some hogs, do you want one??? Message me your #. I can meet you by the river in the parking lot!

First year WMA opened up.. Several of old stanfs were still their, actualy still few if know were ta look... Climbed up ladde, could hear something inside... Figured a coon with little ones.. Opened door & a young buzzerd, bout size of full grown, just not mature feathers bout took me head off...
of deer, hope other members realize your posts are about land bordering the WMA... Still got some pork from hog took by house here... Dont have insurance for truck... Got few pic's of 3deer eating corn pilled up wre got hog... Heard soe onr shoot few days ago, sounded like a hit... Been pretty slow here. Found scrape, lots of acorns here... Best wishes...

Any reports from hunters at OSBWMA ?

Ya don't here much excitement happening at OSBWMA... Last two days been pretty much raining... Be a little wet down thar... Still some good hunten though... You checked on river ? Seen on tv water flowing out of flood gates so river should be up, good catfishing... Been getting some pics of doe's here at house, one button buck... You thinned out the hogs at your place ?

Going to sit tonight. High water might have run more deer my way. Water should be at the tops of the banks. I'll let you know in the morning.

Been at OSBWMA on the ATV trails & it was like walking on a floor full of marbles... Emagine the trails are holding water, & have ta walk around standing water in low spots... i goes right threw with my duck-taped tennishoes. can mess up a brand new pair of socks quick... You still getting some pic's on cam's... If no pressure from hunters on WMA could make tough hunt till nuts sour... Best wishes...

I need to get back out to OSBWMA soon. Been dove hunting out at a buddies just west of Abaline, and hunting Caddo National Grasslands. Haven't been out to OSBWMA since last spring. Colt, ya better leave a pig or two for me.

Didn't see a thing. Water is up to the banks and water standing in all the low spots. Think my deer got stuck on the South side. Corn piled up under the feeders since the rain.

I've hunted out there for several yrs. Flooding or any standing water seems to push the animals up to higher ground. I'd look at a topo map and look for some elevation changes. Hope that helps if any.

Daughter & i put in at Hoard road, several years ago & canoed ta 14 ... We seen dead dear floating in river... Son & i usdta take my Jon boat & hunt the high spots when river flooded the WMA, always found few hogs..

Colt went back Thursday. Most places had water almost to the top of my boots. The place I am sitting in ground blind opening morning has standing water. Guess I will have to ware my rain suit pants or get a wet arse!!

Got pic of a do, & button buck on cam by mock scrape made by an ol rub.. Today pic of a buck nose ta ground here at house.. Call him my Holoween Buck... He knows my tricks & avoids the treats set out... It's not the usual buck see out of stand opening weekend... That's an older buck... This one fairly young... If it wet on your side it wet at OSBWMA... Know several high spots that always find hogs when river up... The deer uaualy head ta Hoard Road & escape... Have a Safe one... Edit: Were had the corn pile, seen some tiny deer tracks, like fawn in spots, just starting ta walk tracks... Batteries were dead so no pic's... & the Mega Plot seeds beuginning ta sprout at oak tree... Plenty acorns...

Note: I have been using aa, c, and d. batteries from Dollar Store. About $2.00 a pack. I have found they work just about as long as the brand name at $$$$.

Water is still up, was there yesterday. Had to hunt a box blind in a high spot. Had a under 13" buck come down the pasture to 20 yards. Wish he was a shooter, big or cull.
Going to hand feed a main trail today and hunt again in the morning.
