Dont give up on LBJ

Dont give up on LBJ - 11/07/14 08:11 PM

Me and a buddy use to hunt LBJ off and on for a few years with no success. We would either see doe and not be drawn or not see em when we were. He decided to give it another go this year and took his brother-in-law out there this morning. He took a nice spike with his muzzle loader the deer came within 40 yards on a trail he was watching. His brother in law saw two bucks but didnt have a clean shot. I think im going to dust off my old muzzle gun and give it another chance. Good luck to everyone hunting this year and be safe..

I may give it a try this week with the slug gun. I know it's public land, but how's the pressure out there?

while never hunted LBJ. have been told, it can get crowded. back whin could aford ta lease, it was places that went ta 1 buck county after years of being 2 buck. whin ya keep seeing on these t.v. hunten shows take a kid hunting, ya have ta have places for them ta go. Afordable places. other wise ya get these credit advisers telling ya its a bad investment. i stood my ground, prices of hunting go up & up. was Blessed ta have a WMA open just down the road. Proud Supporter of WMA . basicly did my hog hunts. best wishes. cooler weather setting in. flag

Lots of pressure during gun season, less during archery. Weekdays obviously have less pressure than weekends. Now that gun season is open, you wont see too many deer on most units during daylight hours. But, some do make the mistake of showing themselves, and you can get lucky
