I would look at a Trijicon Credo. It is slightly above your budget at $1,200.

Here is a good video review on various models. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHSRZtJA8mg&t=405s

Seems like they are either $300-$500 or $1500 plus.

Tract has a 1-8 SFP that is just under $1000. Made in Japan.

I have a Strike Eagle no where near 1k but it does what I need it to do. The BDC reticle works out to 400 on a 16” AR. The glass over 6 power isn’t great.

Go to Expert Voice and we get 30% off Night Force.

NX8 and be done with it.

I’ve got a Tenmile HX arriving Monday. Only downside to the Credo is the FFP, I’m really wanting SFP

They also have a veterans direct program. I’m guessing it’s probably 30% also

I considered the NX8 but the center dot is 1.25 MOA and the clicks are 2MOA. I felt like the center dot would be rather limiting as the distance gets longer.

Adjustments are 1/2 MOA and .2 Mil

That dot is larger than I would want, but it would make for fast acquisition.

Agreed. I came close to buying it but went with the new Primary Arms PLX compact. I know it’s probably blasphemy to compare the two but it’s also made by LOW of Japan and is the same weight. I went with the Griffin Mil which has a MiL Christmas tree and a chevron as an aiming point. The elevation turret is low profile and can be run capped or uncapped. Has 1 mil adjustments.

I have the same scope (strike eagle 1-8) and I would second this (I am typically using mine at the lowest mag setting, or 4x-5x in a stand hunting over a 100 yard feeder) - I have had the opportunity to look through a trij credo LPVO and would say the glass is an order of magnitude (or more better) to the point of me thinking the roughly $800 price difference was worth it. It was very, very noticeably better glass. For what it is worth though I do intend at some point to purchase the PA GLx series 1-6 to try out based on my experience with a GLx series 3x prism scope I have on a .22 right now (think the 1-6 is $600) so it is a little more than the Vortex and less than the Credo.

Credo probably the best bang for buck. The NF if you want to spend money

I have a Tract 1-8 mounted on an AR that is in my UTV every day on some pretty rough terrain and it’s held up well. Good illumination and the glass is good. I wish they would go with a black finish.
