Truglo, 3x9x50 Illuminated BDC (green and red)

Picked this guy up on clearance 10 years or so ago and put on a new Savage .308 with Accutriger back then. Believe it was at Dick's Sporting Goods and paid like $135, normally $225 or so. Haven't only shot it a couple of times since at range but seem to remember the glass being pretty nice and the red or green reticle BDC illumination being really nice, able to turn up or down either illumination and scope holding zero well. As a bonus, it came with nice front and rear Truglo flip up covers too. With the current ammo shortages, may find myself shooting this gun this coming year and am wondering what thoughts are on this setup? Thanks...

Believe it is 50MM, could be 42MM but think 50 which I've read they used to make

Sorry, not an optics expert or range rat, just a hunter that takes 100-250 yard shots from time to time, I know magnification is 3x9 and believe front end is 50mm, quite a bit larger than the 40mm that I have in Leupold, Burris and Bushnell on other 3x9 scopes. Is the Truglo setup decent for hunting deer?

Not familiar with that brand at all. For Texas whitetail hunting, I have always been a 3x9 40mm guy. Quality at first and last light is a big deal for me and that is why I have gone with Zeiss glass on my 2-3 favorite rifles. Not top end Zeiss but the Conquest line and they have always delivered.

Not gonna be happy with it in low light conditions for identifying mature bucks but the crosshairs will be visible......

Well good thing I have a good set of binoculars..
