Sig BDX setup

Sig BDX setup - 11/20/20 08:30 PM

I was looking into getting some rangefinding binos and came across the bdx scope setup. Would be nice to use when shooting coyotes out a ways or pigs. Has anyone tried it out or seen it work in person or is it another one of those things thats not worth the money.

Also does anyone have the 3000bdx’s? Still looking at them for some range finding binos even if I dont use the scopes. Thanks

I have had my 3000BDX Binoculars for two years and still have them so there’s that.
I have looked at the scope setup at the range and for pigs and deer sized animals it would be fine but for more precise shooting the reticle is a Little to heavy/ thick and covers too much target for my tastes.

The Sig Binoculars Bluetooth to my watch which has the ballistic app and gives atmospheric as well so i can see my dialup in the Binoculars or by looking at my watch. Works quite well.

Ok thanks after looking around on the internet a little more a lot of people are saying its nice but just kinda not worth it at the same time. Mainly just interested in the binos now and curious how far out they will pick up a coyote?

It depends. I have ranged objects under certain conditions at 3800 yards. I think the farthest I have ranged a coyote has been just shy of 500 yards. Honestly it’s not that it won’t range animals at 2-3000 yards it’s just can you be certain that you are hitting the animal or objects in front or behind it.
I have used it to make kills on deer to 800 yards.
I like the Binoculars better than the Rangefinder because the extra magnification helps see what you are ranging clearer. You need to have a steady rest to accurately range way out there no matter what you use.
The glass in the Sig actually pretty good the only complaint I have is that the independent focus on each eyepieces can move so I wish they locked once set.

That is my only complaint on my Vortex Fury (original not 5000 HD). I’ve looked through the Leica and Ziess side by side in the “dark” and I can’t tell a difference. My buddy with the Leica could tell a very slight difference but said he was shocked at the Fury’s. He has better eyes than me because he could see stuff I needed a thermal to see.
