Hands down leupold, warranty only reason for me I had a Burris pistol scope 15 years ago and Burris messed me around on the warranty something fierce, it ended up cosmetic about $75-80 Out of pocket in the end to get a lesser Model scope. I never really forgot about it..

I have the XTR II on my CTR 308. I like it a lot. It's heavy but it's built like a tank. Me and my buddy have been snake bit too much by Leupold lately for me to give them any more money. Tired of of sending them back to for new erector springs.

I went from a MK4 to a XTRII. I have been very pleased with the XTRII so far

Well, I've had to use Leupold and burris warranty. Burris was much better.

I was mostly mad because they chose to replace my scope with a lesser model with no compensation.

I used to send my br scope to leupold every year for a check up never had issues, but that was over 15 years ago.

Now I buy nightforce!

I get it. I had a Leupold rx1000 rangefinder that decided to take a dump. Sent it in and got told "we can't fix it but here's a coupon for 25% off a replacement if you buy it from us."

I had a ff3 that I beat the hell out of as a competition optic, and when it broke, Burris sent me a new one the day mine arrived at the warranty facility.

I'm leaning towards the xtr2 at this point.

Tab, it sounds like we had the same experience with opposite companies

Sounds like it, to be honest leupold reticle selection is basic and nonexistent unless you spend $2000 and at that point I’d rather have a Schmidt, or nightforce or even a March

No scope is worth buying MOA to get.

Had an XTR II for year, that never left my truck. I never broke it.

I had the 4.5-14x40 vx3, not the same but similar. I have an xtr. I have my reasons to dislike Leopold and Burris but I currently have still have the xtr ii.
I'll vote Burris.

I called Burris to replace a cap that I honestly broke and told them I broke it but am not buying a butler creek. They said no problem tell us the address to send it to and your good to go. Just saying

The SCR reticle is one of the best reticles on the market for long range shooting IMHO.

Burris has a great track record for reliability. The 5-25 is good up to 20x and then optically fades a bit from 20x to 25x, but it's still serviceable. Just had to point out at least one negative, because otherwise it's a really nice scope with good turrets, good mechanical build quality, and a really nice reticle.
