Emblem on Leupold Rings

Emblem on Leupold Rings - 08/11/20 02:40 PM

I've always bought Leupold for scopes, bases & rings. Recently I ventured away & bought a Sightron with 30mm tube. I plan to put it on my Rem 700V 6mm. The rifle is already rigged out with a Leupold bridge base but I needed to upgrade the 1" rings. I ordered a set of Leupold 30mm std rings for the mount. The new rings have a big Leupold logo on top of each ring. I guess it's just me & a minor thing, but I think it makes the whole set-up look kinda "cheesy".

Those are pimpin but you can't mix Leupold rings with a Sightron scope. The fashion police will not be happy.

At least they're not gold filled.

That would be tight if Leupold offered the gold package on their rings.

electric tape or jb weld.

I use steel epoxy all the time now after learning how to bed a stock. Fantastic technique for all sorts of applications. If you're anal enough you can try the die the epoxy to match. I've learned that specifically with regular jb weld, you can cut it off alot easier in about 30-60mins after application. That way there's only a minimal amount to be filed smooth after full curing.

Personally I'd just leave it.

Those style of bases are the worst you can get. I have seen MANY times the ears on the bottom of the rings get sheered off from recoil. And the screws come loose very easy and make your scope loose. We spend lots of money on rifles, scopes, ammo and hunts. And I hate to see a $20 set of rings and bases ruin a shot when it counts.

Found my link. Read this, and it's exactly the problem I've seen. This was from 2017, and I've seen several more since then. Guess what. DON'T USE THESE!!!! biggest POS ever.

For a Rem 700 or Win 70 hunting rifle, what base/ring combo is recommended? TIA...

Anything besides that style of mount. You can get a 2 piece base with rings that bolt onto the base, or a picatinny rail with rings that bolt on. Talley makes some one and 2 piece rings/bases that are good, also. There's TONS of options.
