Best Value Thermal Monocular

Best Value Thermal Monocular - 01/21/19 07:58 AM

I haven't really shopped around but was wondering what the average market price range is for a quality thermal monocular. Usage would be for spotting hogs and exotics at night.

Does anyone have experience with Leupold LTO Tracker HD Thermal Monocular (25 Hz, Matte Black)? A site has them on clearance for $600 and didn't know if they were worth it or not or usable yardage compared to what they claim. I bet the batteries would get expensive on it but at least they are replaceable and overall it is very lightweight.

I'd pass on the LTO. Be on the lookout for a used firestorm for a grand or less.

I love my Binox from ATN

They are binoculars that range from 4 to 16 power

For cheap night vision they do OK

$400 ish

Have a Pulsar XQ30, great scope for the money, shop around, got it for 1800.00

I agree on the LTO, had one and didn't like it.

LTO is a waste of money for what you want. I tried it for that and glad Academy took it back. That $600 is an everyday price at Academy, so dont fall for the clearance aspect. I use a Pulsar XQ 38. I was too cheap to buy a monocular so I use the scope as a monocular and slap it on gun when I find something to shoot at. My 38 came with a QD mount which makes it easy. Just my .02
