ATN X-Sight 4k Pro 5x20 Night Vision Hog Down 60 Yards - 04/04/18 07:55 PM

Took out the ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 5x20 on a hog hunt at WolfPenHunts.

IR Light - Wicked Lights A51iR 3-in-1 Light (Red LED, 850ir, 940ir) - 850 Ir used at 60 Yards.

No review just night vision footage. No lag when scanning, no issues experienced so far.

Very cool. I have the ATN X-Sight II and thoroughly enjoy using it. Debating on picking up one of these. Seems much better resolution than the previous generation. Looks nicer too!

Did you use YouTube stabilization or a video program filter ?

Reason I ask is the background foliage seems to go in and out of sharpness/clarity and seems to undulate while the foreground and animals remain still...

Unable to determine lag on running shots at 60 yards.

Good kill !

I put the video directly into I Movie on my wife's laptop and then the titles and my logo.. that was all I did on this one.. Tried to keep it simple. No stabilization or filters. Only time I use filters is with the day time footage in the the show episodes (Cinematic) to match the rest of the color on the show..

Looks pretty nice and clear. I noticed it was a touch blurry. I'm curious if this is more noticeable in the video footage than it is in the viewfinder or about the same? I've noticed that on the new Photon RT's it is pretty hard to get a really sharp focus but things looks fine via the viewfinder but always look a tiny bit out of focus when the videos are played back.

The focus is sensitive which is a good thing to get even better focus at higher magnifications and with the improvement of the screen imagery, it did not even look out of focus on the scree, but clearly I have a little more work to do in regards to ensuring it is 100% in focus for video playback.

Looks good. Would like to see more brush in the foreground before making the claim it is awesome through brush, but that was an apparent step up from previous digiNV and washout.

All in all looks good though. Good visibility though, but what was moon condition? I know we had some good
Moon nights the last weekend. Didn’t see when the video was done...

ATN X-Sight 4K Hog Down - Stalk to 40 yards - Through some brush - 04/06/18 01:25 PM

We took out the ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 5x20 on its first hog hunt at Wolfpen Hunts. This is the first group we stalked up on, and had to do some crawling behind some bushes. Notice how the IR (Wicked Lights A51iR 3-in-1) reflection off the bushes DOES NOT wash out the screen and you can see past the bushes! Amazing!

Sorry for the unsteadiness I was freehand with one knee on the ground.

Not sure we can truly judge overall performance on 40 yard hunts with a branch hanging high right in the screen but at least the scope didn’t overcompensate for such a small visual obstruction.

When are you going to get out of the pen and hunt some fields and show us the scopes performance at distances beyond 150 yards!!!

Good kill !

Yes sir I agree... I actually have some hunts scheduled over the next few weeks that are not High fenced type hunts. You will get to see the full versatility of the scopes.

I want to show, and put it to the real tests for you all. WolfPenHunts.com is a great place for a quick meat kill i fy ou have no land to go to, kids, or first time hunters. But lets be honest, it is not a real hog hunt experience of scanning fields and stalking up to to them from 600 yards out.

That is what I am looking forward to. Only way I will gain credibility this season and the optics gain credibility as well from my viewers.

Happy Hunting!

I have told him that before...I just expect to bounce a little when I watch his videos.

One thing you can be sure of is he gets excited when he gets ready to shoot.

I recently bought this same atn. I do notice it does have some issues focusing when in brushy situations. Was wondering if you have had any issues with the ir spooking the hogs? I'm using the ir that came with it.

There is not really yes or no question to that answer. Are some hogs and predators more IR sensitive than other? yes. Will every animal spook with a bright IR? no..

I think it is really more about the hunting pressure and patterns, and if an animal has been educated or not. Do the animals see the beam or light itself? No. But they do see the red glow from the IR bulb.

This is why I like IR lights with dimmers on them, you can have it as bright or as dim as you need to see clearly, no matter what digital night vision you use.

My 2 cents.
