Shotgun red dot scopes?

Shotgun red dot scopes? - 11/03/17 02:00 AM

I have an 870 truck/home defense shotgun. Been thinking about putting a red dot on it but unsure if it will be of much benefit. Anyone using one. Thoughts and opinions?

I put a Burris FastFire ll on my son's Maxus when he started hunting. Given you point a shotgun and aim a rifle, it was a wasted effort as I was told it would be.

I have a Truglo red dot on my pig blaster for shooting at night. For defense I don't think I would want to use one. It sits up higher so you can't really cheek weld how you are used to. A Tridium front sight would be better for night time.

I have a burris red dot on my Akdel 12 gauge and I like it. But it is a tactical shotgun w/10 round mags. At 25yds w/buckshot it shoots a 12" group.
