Will Academy take a scope back?

I bought a Nikon Prostaff 5 3.5-14x40 SF BDC on 9/27/2017. I have the receipt and box. I mounted the scope on a rifle. I’ve shot probably 100 rounds through the rifle. Tonight while cleaning the rifle I notice a rubber seal is coming loose on the front lens. I wanted to hunt with this rifle come deer season. So I really want a refund or exchange. I don’t want to send it in to the factory for repair. That would take too long. Do you think Academy will exchange it or give a refund?

In my experience Academy has an excellent return policy and will replace almost anything. Only way to know for sure is to try.

Lots of companies won’t take back items that have factory warranties. That’s why they have warranties. That being said, I bet they will.

Just tell them it is the wrong scope. Done and done.

Yes, they did. They took it back, no questions asked other than what was wrong with it. I showed them, and they happily refunded my money. I then went to Cabela's and picked up a Vortex 4-16x50 HS LR.

One of the many reasons I shop at academy is their awesome return policy. I hate that so many folks abuse it because it may not always stay that way.
