Burris signature ring torque - 10/01/17 08:22 PM
Just setup some signature zee rings on a rifle..I thought it was odd in their directions they recommend 30-35in pounds for the rings, not the cross bolt screw. Can anyone clarify this? I've never seen such high torque for rings.

Sounds like alot, seekins website listed the amount on there rings caps were 20 inch pounds.
Hope you did not damage your scope....

Scope seems fine but I won't be able to shoot the rifle for a week or two. Hopefully those bushings absorb some of that torque. If so they'll be buying me a new one..I'll put a picture on here of the package stating the specs.

I don't think you have damaged the scope. It is possible but I doubt it. The spec is 30 in on the base and 20 in on the ring caps. I don't know why they have not corrected the packaging. When I first started mounting scopes I used to mount the Zee rings to the 30-35 spec on the package and never saw an issue with any mechanics, optics, or damage to the tubes. If they did cause an issue I would certainly call Burris immediately. They have pretty customer service.
