picatinny base

picatinny base - 07/23/17 11:06 PM

I need a base for my R700 and was noticing I can get one delivered for about $45 or I can spend $120 on others. What should I be looking for? I've never bought a one piece base so I know nothing about this.

Lots out there....recommend a 20 degree base if you want to reach out to longer distances. Mine come from Precision Reflex but are a bit pricey (they were a customer of mine so I bought from them). Chad and Jason can give you good recommendations also. P_102

The details have been discussed about 6 gazillion times on the internet, I don't know if you've heard about the google before?

Anyhow, I stick with Seekins rail and rings for almost all applications. Excellent product. Strength, with the weight advantage aluminum construction.

EGW aluminum what I buy.

Good price, MADE IN USA, screw holes line up.

That's great to hear as they are some of the less expensive ones I found. I'll order today. Thanks for the reassurance JG.

Do you get the HD model or regular EGW?

20 moa base is fine, as long as you have the proper internal elevation in your scope to handle the 20 moa. Some scopes can not, and I recommend a zero canted base for those scopes.

I believe HD version is steel. I buy the aluminum. Never had a problem, even on the 7 Rem Mag with 180's.

Thanks, I was going to get the HD, but the Tactical is priced really well.

I got swamped at work yesterday and didn't get to order it. 2 jerks called in sick. Funny how people rarely get sick in the middle of the week, it's always on Friday or Monday. I'll prolly get the regular base. Why do you ask?
