Digital Night Vision accuracy

OK guys....help me out here.

I am in a quandary of sorts.

I have a new CZ 455 Varmint rifle in 17 HMR that I purchased for general 'small' varmint control, but in particular... to snipe a few raccoon's from around feeders at night.

I have a couple of dedicated 'hog stands' (bait sites with feeders, hog lights, elevated stands)...but the Coons are killing me. Eventually they learn NOT to go into the live traps I have set for them and the foot-hold traps require checking every day.

So, I thought I'd just snipe some of them each time I am out hog hunting.

So...here is my question: Are Digital Night Vision Scopes capable of minute of angle accuracy at 100 yds (or just beyond)? Do they hold zero?

I need to be able to make precise head-shots, not just general 'hits'.

I don't have any firsthand experience with Digital, so I don't know if there are any inherent problems with them.

I know I can get good accuracy (repeatedly) from a conventional scope.

If it makes any difference, I am looking at a Sightmark Photon 4.6 Digital with a 'doubler' (effectively making it 8 X) and an external IR illuminator.

For a normal scope, I am considering a Vortex Viper PST 2.5 x 10 x 44mm with illuminated reticle.

Suggestions or Concerns?

Doublers, any and all to varying degrees, can lose zero due to recoil, optic alignment that gets jostled in transport of the weapon, etc...

For accuracy at the level your seeking (essentially match grade - "headshot" on small varmints) at 100 yards it is my opinion that you'd be best served from a dedicated scope with high resolution or rear scope addon digital system.

Nothing doubled and the base Photon doesn't have the clarity.

for coons at that distance I would do the vortex and get a good green gun light, they do not shy from the light.

streamlight tlr gamespotter is what I put on one of my rifles for this exact reason, possums and coons, but I am shooting less than 100 yds. the streamlight will easily go over 200 yds.

FWIW, the Photon 4.6 may surprise you. My old eyes are ready for cataract surgery, and I drink too much coffee, but here's what the Photon did during my first round of sighting in.

The N750 holds a zero really well when mounted correctly here is the proof:

These hogs where downed at around 130 yards and the small football size one was running after the big one got his brain scrambled with a .223 hope this helps ya.

My Photon 4.6 has held zero for hundreds of rounds. It groups as good as any other scope of the same magnification.

Congratulations. Hogs really don't present a problem for me (MUCH larger target) and I already have a purpose built rifle for them (.458 SOCOM). I would like to put a 'doubler' on a Photon 4.6 (if I were to purchase one) and it has been suggested....that 'might' create a problem with consistency, I don't know.

I probably need 1 MOA accuracy (or less) at 100 yds...in order to achieve the shot placement I want.

I might end up with a Photon later on...but I went ahead and ordered the Vortex. In order for me to get a 'good' sight picture (for head shots) at that distance (100 yds.) I am going to need at least 8 to 10 power. When I was younger....4 to 6 power would suffice, but I need more magnification now.

I already have LED 'hog lights' that illuminate the bait site, so anything that walks under them is easily visible, even with the naked eye. It does help to have a rifle mounted light in case something presents itself outside the beam of the hog lights. I have 5-6 lights for that (both red and green).
