Problem Sighting In a Photon Scope

Problem Sighting In a Photon Scope - 01/02/15 05:03 PM

I bought the new Photon XT scope a few weeks back and ordere the Burris PEPR mount with the quick detach mount:

The problem I am having is when I tighten down the mounts the scope crosshair is aimed farther left than I have ability to move it back with the controls on the Photon to the bore sight laser.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks.

Have you got fine measuring instruments? Like a good caliper and/ or micrometer?

Maybe when the levers clamp down the mount is getting out of centerline. Measure how parralell the surface that mounts to the rifle is. Other than that, maybe lap the rings.

Thanks for the response, but you are speaking greek to me. I have never mounted a scope myself, always had it done where I bought the scope. This scope I bought online. My rifle is a Browning BAR Hog Stalker and has the mounting rail already mounted. So, I just put the scope in the rings and attached to the rail. Sounds like it's not as simple as I thought it was?

Try a set of separate rings to rule out the one piece being uneven.

Outside of that if you can't get on target call Sellmark (they are in Mansfield) and get a return on the Photon XT.

They're good to go on customer service and technical support.

Make sure the bottom of the PEPR mount is in fact in between the slots, and not wedged onto one of the slots. I've had this happen before. It needs to sit between each slot on the rail. Make sure the rail is mounted correctly and straight.
