I have a Vortex Viper 50 mm scope and need a sun shade bad due to where I shoot and SWFA doesn't have them and I'm wondering if I can order one from a different manufacturer, ie Ziess, Nikon etc and use it on my Vortex scope? Are the threads the same?

I would think the folk at SWFA could answer that question with authority. I have always found them very helpful.
