What is a good 30mm tube scope under 500? Have a set of good rings for a 30mm and bought a 1" scope and rings and they are not working well for me. So I need another plan.

You didn't say anything about objective size but you would be hard pressed to beat this one at $500 if you get the demo at 499.99

I personally mostly shoot low power variables I have a 1X4, 1.2X6, and two 2X7 I just picked up a Minox 1.2X6 demo from Cameraland. At 6 to 7 X I feel good out to 300 yds on big game. If shooting long distance big game or predators beyond 200 a bit more magnification would be called for.

I personally don't care for real high magnification so I don't want something to much more than maybe 12 max but as low as 2 or so

Mote magnification than the 10X on the high side but good scope also
