Trump plan calls for nationwide concealed carry and an end to gun bans - 11/02/19 02:34 PM

Quote
Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump -- who said he has a concealed carry permit -- called for the expansion of gun rights Friday, including making those permits applicable nationwide.

Quote
"Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own," Trump wrote.

Quote
The real estate magnate called for expanding mental health treatment, saying that people with mental health issues who are violent must be off the street "before they can terrorize our communities." Trump said the issue has been ignored."All of the tragic mass murders that occurred in the past several years have something in common – there were red flags that were ignored," Trump said. "And why does this matter to law-abiding gun owners? Once again, because they get blamed by anti-gun politicians, gun control groups and the media for the acts of deranged madmen."

"The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own"

Then why did he put through the bump stock ban requiring mandatory turn in or destruction without compensation? Im pre-Trump but his actions don't line up with his words there.

Been saying on here for years that Red Flag laws were coming and I'm not 100 percent against them if done properly. Most of our past mass shooters could have been identified and flagged long before they killed and it sounds like that's the direction he's looking.

I'll always vote for him over a democrat, but his silencer statements educated me that he's less than knowledgeable about things related to the 2nd amendment and firearm related crime.

Red flag laws are a huge step in the wrong direction. It starts with the mental health deal, anyone with a history of mental illness of any sort can forget about purchasing from a large retailer. Whether warranted or not.

But then the next step will be to prohibit gun sales to anyone that has no medical history good or bad for mental health. Now you have to see the wizard and get his stamp of approval. Hope your shrink isnt a liberal. Most mental health professionals are very liberal i might add, at least from my 6 years working in a psych facility.

Not to mention, a visit with a psych to get approval is cost prohibitive. Common folk are gonna have a hard time as it is saving for a nice hunting rifle or a good pistol for home defense.

Now you really wanna talk red flags, a lot of these douchebags that do this stuff already did enough to justify big brother watching them more closely. Hold them accountable and make them do their damn jobs.

Better start talking about because it's going to happen and the sooner we get ahead of it the better.

Trump Jr. Is a champion of the Hearing Protection Act, and is a hunter. He has educated his dad on the matter.

Wrong or right direction it's a step I see happening, and yes it most likely will be centered around mental health and I hope it include the mental health system and all involved. Depending on how it's written I might just support it.

I think that could be true

Trump stealing private property with the ban of bump stocks has really stuck with me

I’ve never owned one btw

Red flag laws are a complete violation of the constitution
