Beto
Beto made it very clear in last nights debate that he WILL confiscate AR/AK style firearms if elected President in 2020. How he does it remains to be seen but if the liberals pull this off what direction do you think this country will head?

Pretty bold play by him but in a few months he will be as irrelevant as a fart in the wind. He is forgetting that the majority of the left isn’t crazy just like the majority of the right isn’t. Polling numbers will give a better picture but he couldn’t win a senate election in Texas, he isn’t going to get the presidential nomination by cussing, saying the country is racist, bragging about his white privilege, and openly defying the constitution.
National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.
Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group’s organizers as “criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government’s efforts to secure law and order. The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.
Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms. One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that “none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily.” Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government’s plans.
During a tense standoff in the Lexington town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists. Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange. Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces over matched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.
Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops.
Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as “ringleaders” of the extremist faction, remain at large.
He'll be a "has been" in just a couple of months and unfortunately go back to trying to get a TX Senate seat

He just wrote off his chances at the VP nod and also lost any chance at beating Cornyn (which was already going to be a long-shot). He'll probably make the remaining debates because of name ID. However, he is now toxic in any general election and the upper echelons of the DNC know it.

Yep, even CNN is saying he just helped Republicans big time.

I wish he would quit waving that right hand.
I watched the clip. There was a couple actually jumping up and down when he really ramped up the volume. The woman was having an out of body experience I'm pretty sure. These are the whack-jobs that will be the problem. They think it's "us against them" and they have no problem with jack booted thugs coming in and taking stuff away from anyone different than them. No understanding of the Constitution whatsoever. These types sent Jews to concentration camps.

Completely agree Marc K. He's only doing this to give contrast from the other loonies knowing he doesnt stand a chance with his status quo. Except he went even further left of the reservation.
I am afraid that a lot of people like that wacko. As a Conservative I would like to think that his extreme leftist agenda and comments would make him irrelevant, but a lot of people cheered and applauded his comments. He actually speaks what the others want and probably would try to do.
Now any of the other extremist will seem moderate when they talk of other gun regulations.

Not enough do. Look at the poles. He couldn’t carry Texas against Cruz and he had all kinds of outside support. He’s proven he thinks the far left will carry the party but it won’t.
His dad has to be crapping a brick right now. The kid will never be off the payroll. "Irish Bob".

He's just a run of the mill Democrat. No different and no worse than any other Democrat or Democrat supporter. He's just more honest about what he's going to do if/when he gets the power to do it.

This, in deed, is the truly scary part. Eventually, one of these losers will have some real power to effect your life, and effect it he/she will...at first, then they'll be so captivated by the hookers and blow that the deep state will actually control everything.

He got invited to the debate because he sells, just because he won’t win doesn’t mean a network doesn’t want him on there. Don’t forget this whole thing is still a business.

Better than a straw tax. Can’t believe they haven’t figured out how much money they are losing by not imposing a tax instead of a ban.

Let’s be honest he isn’t really running for President, just living off his “campaign” donations while “campaigning”

For sure, he is just there to take media attention off joe saying stupid stuff anyway
He doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning....he is being a useful tool to advance their agenda (i.e. normalize lunacy) and stuff his pockets with campaign contributions....
Nothing to see here....just the left being the left....

LinkFrom the article: “If we pass this law then I expect our fellow Americans to follow the law,” O’Rourke said.
Meanwhile the left picks and chooses which laws they feel like they should follow. I am still amazed that in the same breath these idiots can talk about how the war on drugs is a failure and then scream that gun control is the solution to all our problems.
He isn't the scary part, it's how many "Beto" stickers you still see on cars. They're cool with it all. They do not give a crap about anybody who's different from them and their rights. This is my biggest worry for our country.

That doesn’t worry me too much. Just because they are the “loudest” doesn’t make them the majority. If it had, Trump wouldn’t have gotten elected. We shouldn’t assume because someone isn’t in an MAGA hat that they are a Democrat.
Beto’s campaign is dead in the water. He’s a lightweight flake.
He hasn’t been arrested for or convicted of a felony though. Just FYI.

Resistance or refusal will result in a visit from LE...according to Beto
LinkThe 1934 Federal Firearms Act made sawed off shotguns and fully automatic weapons subject to all kinds of hoops to jump through to own one. The $200 stamp, that has been that way for ages. Overall compliance is well over 90%, This has been tested in the courts quite a few times, and still in effect 83 years later. If LEO finds out someone has one of these, what do they do??? They pay a visit to the person.
If I was betting, I would bet they could do the same with semiautomatic pistols, and include all long guns to include your hunting rifles. I also would bet they could jack that $200 tax to $2000, and still pass the smell test through the court system.
Past history has almost always showed a high compliance rate with any new laws, I doubt if this will be much different.

Except we are better educated than in the past. We have better means of communicating with one another. No one will feel isolated if bad things start to happen.

Beto is saying what all the others want to but are smarter than that. Beto is getting their message out to those that agree with gun confiscation. He will drop out soon and will work with one of the more radical left candidates. He will get a cabinet position IF a Democrat is elected.

Just a reminder... Trump is our President because of the Electoral College, “them” actually were the majority.

100% agree. I’m a proud Republican but I would never wear one of those.
I don’t know why anyone gives one rats azz, any credence to what Beto says. It’s provocative for sure, stirs everyone up, but that’s all. The other Democrats, aren’t secretly wanting the same thing, it’s not in the realm of the possible and provides no political gain, as he has shown.

Cell phones let them know your location, and using cell service can and will be detrimental to resistance.
Remember when Trump started his run for the Presidency, at first not many people took him seriously either. .
