DEfining day for Gov. Abbott - 05/24/18 05:48 PM

he has to hear all the shooting victims today calling for gun control.

they just don't understand the whole picture. Its just the "cool" bandwagon to jump on.

we'll see what he says.

Maybe the will call for car control, cell phone control, and drug control since any one of those kills more under 18's a week than all of the school shootings.

This. Interesting they ignore the Driving under influence that kills more of their peers.

He’s the republican governor of the most gun-friendly state in the nation. I’m pretty sure it’s not a “defining moment” for him. Everyone in the state and country knows where he stands.

I am wondering what "stronger regulations for gun storage" are being considered...

Bringing that up may hit a little close to home for a lot of them.

My BIL lives in Massachusetts and under state law guns and ammo have to be stored separately, comes in real handy during a home invasion

My guess would be stiffer penalties for adults who allow children access to firearms due to negligence.

Yeah, I pretty much thought that too. Then I read his "plan" and discovered my ignorance.

Make of it what you will, but a bunch of this is steaming bullsh!t in my opinion. No thanks to Abbott.

I take some issue with this guy's #1 (as a former ISD trustee I believe in as much local control as possible and accepting responsibility for success/failure), but the rest of his analysis is dead nuts on...and much more explanatory than my ambiguous "steaming" comment:

I'm horribly disappointed in Abbott. Hopefully the NRA and TSRA get to waking folks up ASAP - they're already behind the GOA.

Greg abott is nothing more than a money grubbing crooked politician and his only priority is bringing in revenue to the state and living high on the hog ,he doesn't care what type of extortion racket they force us to live under as long as he gets richer and the state gets more control over every aspect of our lives .and all he does is blow bullturds pandering for votes so his worthless butt can live off the taxpayers for the rest of his pathetic life. and he doesn't care what god given and constitutional rights he and his government take away from us to achieve his goal . don't be fooled by his wheelchair ,mild manners and self proclaimed righteousness hes no real christian and the only rights he believes in are his own and the power of the state.

Look, I generally agree with some of the aforementioned talking points and criticisms of Abbot; however, let me give you the alternative to Mr. Abbot....Lupe Valdez.

thats the trouble when 2 parties rule they push any real constitutional candidates out we need to quit voting in politicians, the parties just orchestrate and create all the problems then they get behind the worthless propaganda media machine and blow this crap out of proportion .in just 100 years politicians have done nothing but tax ,restrict and regulate every single thing we need ,do and own they are nothing more than a constitutional abomination . we have to do something about these jerks soon or things that hitler ,stalin and the cartels and dictators in south america are doing will be minor compared to what these government whores will do to anyone that doesnt follow and agree with them. history will repreat itself with the exception that the genocide will be worse than anything weve ever seen.

That all well and good, and I agree with the general sentiment, but whatever alternatives arise better have it together better than "Where's Aleppo?" and A-hole from El Paso type goofballs. Those are losers from the get-go.
